Cut so nothing catches

Shorts are built with flat-felled or bonded side seams, no pockets, no belt loops and a clean elastic waistband. Anything that protrudes is a flag that comes off when it should not, or worse, one that stays on when it should not.

Jerseys run 140gsm lightweight polyester and are cut close through the body. A loose flag football jersey is a handle, and in a non-contact sport that is exactly the problem. Hems sit above the belt line by design.

7v7 tops are cut slightly longer and looser than the 5v5 jersey, because the game is played at a different pace and most 7v7 programmes layer over compression.

Tournament and league requirements

Most flag organisations, including NFL FLAG, require jerseys to be tucked or cut above the belt, and prohibit pockets on shorts entirely. Number sizes are usually left to the league. We cut to the belt-line rule by default because it is near-universal, and we will match any specific league document you send with the brief.

Sizing across age groups

Flag runs from 5U through adult in most organisations, which is a wider grading range than almost anything else we make. Youth and adult are separate patterns.
