Four-way stretch with real recovery

Singlets are 220 to 240gsm poly-spandex with high recovery. Recovery is the critical property, not stretch: a fabric that stretches but does not return will shift on the mat, and once it has bagged out at the shoulder it never sits right again.

Every seam is flatlocked. A raised seam inside a singlet is a pressure point under a body weight, and an overlocked seam in this garment abrades the skin.

Leg openings are cut high with a silicone gripper rather than elastic, which holds without constricting. Shoulder straps are cut wide enough not to dig in and set far enough in not to slip.

The graphic is sublimated into the fibre. Anything pressed on top of a four-way stretch fabric cracks at the shoulder the first season, because the substrate moves further than the applied layer can.

NFHS legality

NFHS permits either a one-piece singlet or a two-piece uniform of a compression shirt and fitted shorts. Both must be school-issued and consistent across the team. There are restrictions on manufacturer logo size and placement, and on what may appear on the garment. NCAA rules differ. Tell us which code you wrestle under at brief stage, because building a singlet that turns out to be illegal at a meet is an expensive discovery.

Sizing across weight classes

Wrestling spans a wider range of body shapes within one team than any other sport we cut, because a roster is organised by weight class. We grade youth, junior and senior separately, and we strongly recommend a full size set with the sample so each weight class can be checked before the bulk breakdown.
