What changes between one sport and the next

The fabric is the first thing that changes. A soccer jersey and a rugby jersey can look similar on a screen and behave nothing alike in a match: one wants the lightest knit that will still hold a sublimated print, the other has to survive being grabbed and pulled by an opponent for eighty minutes. Wrestling singlets need a high-stretch blend with real recovery, because a fabric that stretches but does not return leaves a garment baggy by the third bout. Baseball and softball pants get abrasion at the hip and knee that no jersey fabric will take. Each stocked fabric is listed with its composition, weight in gsm and what it suits, so you can see why we recommend what we recommend.

The second is patterning. Every sport here is cut on its own graded block, not one body pattern resized across the range. A volleyball jersey is cut shorter in the body and higher at the underarm so it stays tucked through a jump; a hockey jersey is cut wide enough to sit over shoulder pads and elbow pads without riding up. Goalkeeper kits, libero jerseys and reversible practice tops are separate patterns again. Our standard graded charts are published in centimetres and inches, and if you already have a chart your squad is used to, we cut to yours instead at no extra cost.

The third is what the governing body allows. Number height, digit choice, contrast between number and jersey, sponsor placement and even the legality of a two-piece kit are all written down somewhere, and the rules differ between high-school, collegiate and international play. Each sport page below sets out the numbering and compliance rules we build to for that sport, so a kit does not get turned away at inspection.

Ordering for a team rather than a shop

Team orders are a different shape of job to a retail run. You usually need mixed sizes in small quantities, individual names and numbers, a hard date tied to a season start, and the ability to add three more players in October without the colour drifting. All four are normal here.

Names and numbers are read back against the roster you send, one garment at a time, before anything is packed. Reorders are cut from the same sealed sample and the same dye lot reference we keep on file, so a shirt made in March and a shirt made in September sit in the same kit bag without an obvious difference. If you are kitting out several age groups at once, order a size set with the sample so players can try before you commit to a breakdown. Decoration is chosen per garment, not per order. A sublimated jersey with a twill-numbered back and an embroidered crest is one garment through three processes, and all three happen on our floor rather than in someone else's queue.
